Job Description:
Leads and maintains day-to-day IT operations, ensuring system stability, on-time reporting, and disciplined documentation standards across all IT processes.
Documentation is considered a core deliverable, not a secondary task.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- • Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers, etc.)
- • Check computer hardware and accessories to ensure functionality
- • Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
- • Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
- • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems through the setup of safe data storage with measures against hacking and compromise of data
- • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
- • Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
- • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging, etc.)
- • Maintain records and logs of repairs, fixes, and maintenance schedules
- • Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders
- • Comply with relevant laws surrounding data privacy
- • Manage IT policies and assets, including issuance of equipment and inventory management
- • Conduct inventory activities to identify working and non-working equipment
- • Submit purchase requisition forms and other procurement-related documents for additional or replacement IT equipment or parts
- • Liaise with ISPs and other service providers to maintain service levels based on SLAs
- • Assist staff requiring IT assistance received through chats and emails
- • Document all system irregularities and IT-related activities
- • Conduct the company’s business continuity process as necessary
- • Provide inputs or draft IT-related policies to maintain secure data and equipment health
- • Upgrade systems with new releases and patches
- • Ensure safekeeping of all IT equipment
- • Store non-assigned equipment in designated storage areas within the work premises
- • Issue or replace IT equipment as needed
- • Maintain system health and conduct PC updates when necessary or as scheduled
- • Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
- • Perform routine system audits
QUALIFICATIONS
- • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- • Knowledge of internet security and data privacy
EXPERIENCE
- • Experience in delivering training courses
- • Certification as an IT Technician is an advantage
